Proprietor Saul Dominguez has announced the opening of the Cuban Café at 1657 Tyler Street, just east of the Publix at Young Circle, where he offers up a selection of sandwiches, churros, empanadas, ice creams, and, he says, "the best Cuban coffee in town!"
Dominguez previously owned and operated the Beach Market convenience store at 317 Johnson Street for over a decade, where he honed and perfected his skills in making snacks, sandwiches, and Cuban coffee.
He originally chose to open his business on Hollywood Beach because he knew that the volume of people visiting the Broadwalk foretold a good investment. He soon realized there was great potential and growth in Downtown Hollywood, and opened Cuban Café.
Among the highlights of the Cuban Café food menu are pan de bono ($2.25), empanadas and pastries ($2.95) and cured smoked salmon sandwiches or traditional Cuban sandwiches ($10.95).
Churros include plain, glazed, filled or with ice cream, ($6.19 - $10.35), while ice cream can be had from plain ($5.15 small) to a banana split ($11.39). Beverages include, of course, Cuban coffee ($2.75) and many flavors of frappes ($7.23).
The Cuban Café is open for eat-in, take-out and delivery from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
