As a part of the Neighborhood Pride Program, the City of Hollywood’s Office of Communications, Marketing & Economic Development is excited to launch its first series of Work Skills Training Scholarship Programs through its partnership with Broward College. The goal of the Work Skills Training Scholarship Program is to teach participants new skills that they can then use to obtain better employment opportunities. Broward College’s Broward UP™ program strives to solve challenges, improve lives, and build partnerships to help everyone realize their unlimited potential.
Classes are free and available to Hollywood residents, ages 16+, residing in the following zip codes only: 33020, 33021, 33023, 33024, 33312.
Classes will be held on select days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the City of Hollywood Emergency Operations Center, located at 2741 Stirling Road. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Registration is now open for the following courses:
- Microsoft Excel Certificate (7 hrs) — Thursday, April 16
- Microsoft Excel Data Analysis (7 hrs) *Proficiency in Excel required — Monday, April 27
- Lean Six Sigma White Belt (7 hrs) — Monday, April 20
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (14 hrs) *Completion of White Belt required — Tuesday & Wednesday, April 21 & 22
