Anne Hotte announced her retirement as chief executive officer and executive director of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Chief operating officer Marie Suarez will succeed her as chief executive of the chamber.
The executive board of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chose Suarez to succeed Hotte as CEO and executive director after conducting a thorough search for outside candidates to fill the position.
“The chamber has become a stronger force in community progress under Anne’s leadership, and Marie has the experience to lead our organization to the next level of excellence,” said Martin Shuham, president of the board of directors of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Hotte will retire January 1, 2020, after a 10-year tenure as the chamber’s top executive. She served from January 2000 to January 2009 as executive director of the Leadership Broward Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on developing leaders to benefit Broward County.
Hotte is finishing her second tenure with the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. She previously worked for the chamber from October 1998 to December 1999 as director of programs.
Suarez succeeded Hotte as program director in December 1999 and has served as chief operating officer of the chamber since October 2011. Her appointment as chief executive officer and executive director will become effective Jan. 1, 2020.
